Hello loves,
What a wonderful weekend. We drove up to Asheville to play with Ben Sollee and Daniel Martin Moore. Asheville was cold and gray, but the Orange Peel! Warm and wonderful. Beautiful venue, kind people, and a great audience. We’re looking forward to doing it again tomorrow night at the Carrboro Arts Center. Doors are at 7, and we’ll be going on at 8.
Thank you so much to all the folks who came out on Saturday, especially those who came all the way from Chapel Hill. When you’re standing on stage alone, it all seems kind of big and scary. It’s good to have friends, people who come because they want to hear you, in the audience.
That said, playing out of town (i.e. not in the NC triangle
) was an awesome experience in that we didn’t know the whole audience! And people still liked it! Holy moly, that means there must be something good going on.
(what does “holy moly” mean, anyway?)
An update on the album front: we’ve booked time with John Plymale, an awesome engineer, and we’ll be working with him at Overdub Lane studios in Durham. I’m so excited (SO EXCITED) to be putting this together. The plan is to release a solo acoustic album (front porch music), and a band album (rock and roll). Everybody’s happy
Love.
