It happened again. No, my car door handles didn’t fall off. I got nominated for “Best Rock Female” at the 2012 Carolina Music Awards.

Your vote does have a real positive impact. Since winning Best Rock Female of NC and SC last year, we’ve seen a lot of doors open. People who wouldn’t give us the time of day were suddenly willing to listen to our music, and guess what? They liked it. We’ve played at more venues gotten better press, and been able to grow – thanks to you, who never needed superficial convincing.

Also, the nice little gold man sits on my mantle and keeps me company while I write songs.  He’s very inspiring. And more songs are a good thing.

If we win the Carolina Music Awards TWO consecutive years in a row, maybe we will hit it big and I can buy Red Dog a collection of sweaters.

Last but not least, I will be able to get new brake pads for my car. Just kidding. I did that already (stop freaking out, mom!!!)… ahem…
