Lizzy Ross – Songwriter, Vocals, Rhythm Guitar
Lizzy Ross has been singing since she could make noise. Dubbed “the loudest child ever born” by her overjoyed parents, she deeply identified with the Little Mermaid and Pocahontas. She still loves to sing, swim, and traipse through forests. Only now she does it with an eclectic band of roving musicians whom she loves dearly!
Lizzy was born and raised on the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis, MD, where she participated in a few high school productions (thanks Mrs. Ruttum!) and played in a few loosey-goosey jam bands (though the names were good – “Baboon Forest” and “Tijuana Schoolbus” among them). Her interest in songwriting and guitar blossomed in her early teens. Lizzy began performing solo at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she studied philosophy.
Lizzy performed with Lafcadio through 2009, winning a spot on Vinyl records, releasing one EP, and wearing lots of flannel. She launched the Lizzy Ross Band in October 2009. She still wears lots of flannel, and she still plays lots of music. She is very excited to share the Lizzy Ross Band’s debut album, Read Me Out Loud, with her friends and fans.
